How Do I Pick The Right Doctor?

Category: Workers Compensation

Author: Matthew T. Hurm, Esq.

Picking the right doctor can make the difference between a rejected claim and a very successful claim. The first thing you should do is not use the doctor your employer suggests. Often, they suggest you use some employer-biased medical service provider. There is a cottage industry of occupational medical professionals that rush workers back to work before they are ready to return. These workers are treated as disposable and their careers can be threatened when their injuries never fully heal.

The Hurm Law Firm had a client that injured his foot and was told by an employer-biased doctor that he could return to work in three days. That worker called the Hurm Law Firm who got him to a foot specialist. It turned out the worker had three broken bones in his heal and ankle. That employer-biased doctor could have caused the worker serious nerve damage and caused a long-term disability. Instead, the Hurm Law Firm made sure its client was given the right care.

One of the central rights injured workers in Ohio have is that they have the right to pick their own doctors.

There are doctors out there that specialize in work injuries and making sure to protect workers’ careers by ensuring injuries are completely healed before returning to work. For a free consultation to get to the right doctor’s office for your work injury, call the Hurm Law Firm at (216) 860-1922.
